Jared Elwart (HE/HIM)
MSW, LCSW, Therapist

Jared Elwart (MSW, LCSW) provides psychotherapy and psychoanalysis, specializing in anxiety, depression, trauma, sexual health, gender identity, and relationship counseling. As a psychoanalyst working in the Lacanian tradition, he creates a unique therapeutic space where patients can explore their unconscious through free association – speaking openly about whatever comes to mind, including dreams, recurring patterns, and the subtle ways language shapes our experiences and symptoms.
Jared's psychoanalytic approach differs from traditional talk therapy by focusing on the unconscious meanings in our speech, the impact of language on our symptoms, and how past experiences continue to influence our present lives. This method is particularly effective for those who have found traditional CBT or short-term therapy insufficient for their needs.
Jared’s office is conveniently located just a 3-5 minute walk from the Main Street Metra station in downtown Downers Grove, which makes it accessible to patients in the western suburbs and people commuting from Chicago.
He is currently accepting new patients for both virtual teletherapy and in-person sessions. Jared offers an initial consultation to discuss your needs and determine if his approach would be helpful for you.
